Pengertian Desain Grafis

Desain grafis adalah suatu bentuk komunikasi visual yang menggunakan gambar untuk menyampaikan informasi atau pesan seefektif mungkin. Dalam disain grafis, teks juga dianggap gambar karena merupakan hasil abstraksi simbol-simbol yang bisa dibunyikan. disain grafis diterapkan dalam disain komunikasi dan fine art. Seperti jenis disain lainnya, disain grafis dapat merujuk kepada proses pembuatan, metoda merancang, produk yang dihasilkan (rancangan), atau pun disiplin ilmu yang digunakan (disain).

Seni disain grafis mencakup kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan visual, termasuk di dalamnya tipografi, ilustrasi, fotografi, pengolahan gambar, dan tata letak.

Pictograms


Pictograms

Pictogram adalah suatu gambar yang mewakili suatu objek tertentu untuk menyampaikan makna tertentu. Pictograms berguna untuk menyampaikan informasi melalui bahasa visual yang dapat dipahami tanpa bahasa asli manusia atau tingkat keaksaraan. Jadi itu berarti bahwa siapa pun di dunia akrab dengan air mancur minum harus mengakui pictogram di atas.

Pictogram ini tertentu merupakan bagian dari seluruh sistem simbol signage yang dikembangkan oleh Departemen Perhubungan Amerika Serikat untuk membantu mengelola aliran banyak orang melalui hub transportasi. Untuk mendorong adopsi mereka di seluruh dunia simbol dibuat tersedia secara gratis. American Institute of Graphic Arts memainkan peran penting dalam desain dan pengembangan simbol-simbol.


Aksara cina sebetulnya adalah wujud dari pictogram tersebut, sistem tulisan digunakan berbagai orang didunia. (Tentang 1000000000 penutur bahasa Cina dibandingkan ke 350 juta penutur bahasa Inggris). Untuk memahami huruf di Cina membutuhkan pengetahuan tentang beberapa ribu lebih dari 80.000 pictograms Cina - meskipun sekitar 3.500 yang paling sering digunakan. The pictogram di atas adalah Cina untuk perdamaian dunia.

Selama Olimpiade 2008 di Cina signage acara dipekerjakan pictographs yang menggema pictographs gaya bahasa Cina.

Rebus



Pernahkah kamu melihat gambar diatas ini, pastinya sering kan. Itu adalah salah satu jenis simbol, atau penyampaian suatu informasi secara visual. teknik ini disebut dengan Rebus.

Apa itu Rebus?
Rebus adalah gambar gambar yang mewakili suara yang diucapkan. Rebus ini kebanyakan digunakan untuk hiburan namun hal ini penting dalam pengembangan alfabet fonetis mulai hiroglif Mesir.

Ditunjukkan di atas adalah dua logo rebus terkenal dari abad ke-20. Pertama, rebus terkenal untuk IBM oleh Paul Rand, seorang desainer terkenal Amerika grafis untuk bekerja identitas perusahaan nya 1.960-1.980.


Rebus terkenal dari Milton Glaser's "I Love New York" sebenarnya merupakan kombinasi dari rebus dan sebuah fonogram. fonogram adalah simbol (huruf) yang mewakili suara yang diucapkan. Sebagai contoh huruf 'A' mewakili suara, ahh atau aay, dll.

Ideograp


Ideograp adalah sebuah karakter atau simbol yang mewakili ide yang lengkap tanpa mengungkapkan pengucapan kata tertentu atau kata-kata untuk itu. Di atas, sebuah karakter yang artinya menunjukkan bahaya tipping mesin penjual otomatis. (Gambar dari Peringatan oleh Nicole Recchia)

Idegrap ini sering digunakan untuk keperluan rambu-rambu lalu lintas di berbagai negara, sering kita melihat rambu-rambu dijalan raya saat kita mengendarai motor atau mobil. Terasa atau tidak, kita telah melihat contoh dari Ideograp karena hanya dengan simbol yang tertera disamping jalan raya, kita telah tahu apa makna dari simbol tersebut. Simbol yang biasa dipakai biasanya dengan gambar saja, text saja ataupun kombinasi dari gambar dan text.

Berikut ini adalah permintaan yang mencoba untuk terlihat akrab untuk tidak merokok di bidang tertentu. Bar merah adalah gambar yang tidak bermakna jika sendirian, tetapi jika digabung dengan text atau gambar lain maka bermakna "tidak."

Trademarks | Brands

Adakah dari anda yang mempunyai suatu perusahaan kreatif, berupa banju, sepatu atau yang lain. atau anda adalah penikmat fasion yang selalu mengganti-ganti gaya sandang. Pastinya tidak asing dengan kata-kata merek. Merek atau Brands ini adalah salah satu jenis dari desain grafis yang berupa simbol.


Selama serikat perdagangan Abad Pertengahan Eropa mulai menggunakan tanda untuk mengidentifikasi asal-usul dan isi produk mereka. Ciri "hallmark" berasal dari tanda pengenal yang pengrajin logam cap ke logam ketika memamerkan barang-barang di ruang gilda di London. Pada gambar di atas jangkar merujuk pada kota di mana produk itu dibuat, singa berarti jenis logam (perak sterling) dan huruf B mengacu pada tahun item ditandai.

Istilah Ear mark dan Branding berasal mereka yang digunakan oleh petani untuk menandai kepemilikan pada binatang mereka. Ketika kawanan berkisar bebas, membaur dengan orang lain di padang rumput umum, permanen tanda ini penting. Ear mark adalah tanda luka atau lubang menekan ke telinga*, branding adalah bekas luka terbakar ke dalam kulit**.


* ----> merek yang terdapat diluar produk, atau terlepas dari produk, seperti pada produk baju yang biasa digabung dengan harga. Yang biasa kita lihat sebelum membeli baju, hehehe!!

Online Gaming is as Addictive as Heroin

Gaming is big business but it has its downside. People have died from gaming and the world is recognizing that game addiction is serious and spreading fast. Mental health professionals opine that gaming can destroy lives, keep students from focusing on learning, workers from working, and women from their duties. There are instances where gamers have not left home for years.

Games like EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, and others are popularly referred to as heroinware. And symptoms of addiction according to Computer Addiction Services at McLean Hospital are: obsession with the game; inability to stop; neglect of family and work; lying to hide activity; problems with studies and work; health problems, muscular as well as vision related; neglect of personal hygiene; as well as sleep disturbances.

The games provide social interaction to lonely people, gamers gain acknowledgement as well as power denied elsewhere due to their gaming expertise, and the game weaves a spell on the mind-one gets so absorbed by the virtual realities that it is hard to get away.

The addiction is so real that it requires intensive therapy. Treatment programs include: behavioral therapy, anti-depressants, as well as prescription drugs.

Not all agree that gaming is addictive. MIT's Games-to-Teach project manager opines that games sharpen critical thinking, improve social skills, and increase empathy. Many others do agree that games inspire imagination, creativity, and team work.

However, the problem is real and countries world over are taking measures. China has set up a clinic in Beijing for net-frazzled addicts to be treated with sports, acupuncture, and medication. The inmates according to the clinic's director have: depression, nervousness, fear, interaction problems, panic, agitation, shaking and numb hands, as well as sleep disorders. Gaming is a serious problem in Korea --- 1-2% of South Korea's online gamers are addicts. The government is taking steps and requesting game developers to create advisory patches to alert gamers to the impeding dangers.

A hard core gamer is one who is completely absorbed by his online fantasy, he isolates himself from family and friends, lets everyday activities fall by the wayside, spends over 16-20 hours a day playing the game and games at work, at home, and while on the road. Gaming becomes his whole life, a thirst that is never quenched.

Treatment is long and hard and like other addictions the first stage is the most difficult, getting the gamer to acknowledge that he or she has a problem. Addicts find it extremely painful to "kill" the characters of the game and to erase /destroy the software. Most are unable to "keep away" and return to the game addictively. Studies indicate that hard core players are often neurotic, shy, have emotional as well as behavioral issues, and problems in the home environment.

To overcome the addiction, the player must consider and analyze the issues underlying the game-it is the question of power, social standing, respect, and emotions.

Gaming is set to become a global epidemic and needs immediate attention as well as solutions.

Bratz Rock Angelz - The Video Game

MGA Entertainment, the creator of the Bratz toy line, has recently given the nod to the Bratz Rock Angelz video game, which was a rather obvious next step to take when you consider the Bratz exploding popularity. It's no surprise that countless children have decided to play as the teenage divas right from the comforts of their own home; there aren't very many games targeted for younger girls, much less one with subject matter with such widespread appeal.

The inevitable release of a Bratz Rock Angelz video game was expected by many Bratz fans worldwide (the Bratz dolls are equally or more popular than Barbie dolls in many countries around the world) since competitors like Barbie have experienced the transition to video games for quite some time. What some parents don't realize is the Bratz Rock Angelz video game is based upon a DVD movie of the same name, so children can enjoy two forms of media that work in conjunction with each other.

The story begins when Jade (of course, one of the Bratz girls), gets fired from her internship at a certain magazine (if you are a Bratz fan, you probably know that I am talking about the "Your Thing" fashion magazine). As a result of this unhappy incident, the Bratz Rock Angelz decide to start their own music and fashion magazine. It is up to you to help the girls achieve their goal. Better yet, you will have the chance to customize Jade's, Chloe's, Yasmin's and Sasha's hair, clothes and looks as you assist them in their fun quest.

The Bratz Rock Angelz videogame presents an isometric perspective view, just like the Sims saga of games, and has nicely designed graphics. Of course, a game about the Bratz Rock Angelz needs to be, at a minimum, as cool as the dolls, and I think the whole game has a hip vibe that will not disappoint any Bratz fan.

As the girls make their way towards their goal, they will have the possibility to complete a lot of small quests and mini-games, which allow you to customize the clothing, the shoes, the hair and a variety of other aspects of the Bratz Rock Angelz looks, including a lot of accessories. There are also some important items you will need to collect and several key locations you will need to visit in order to help the girls in the process of setting up their own magazine.

But the Bratz Rock Angelz are not alone! In fact, you will need to interact with several other characters from the Bratz dolls toy line, and of course you will be hanging out in some of the available Bratz sets (like the Bratz Shopping mall, for instance).

The Bratz Rock Angelz video game starts with the girls in the school, but soon they are traveling the entire world, looking for the perfect interview to a cool celebrity or finding the perfect news story.

The Bratz Rock Angelz video game is available on a PC-compatible CD-ROM, and it is priced about 20 dollars. The Nintendo Gamecube version costs about 40 dollars, about the same price of the Bratz Rock Angelz video game for the PlayStation 2 console. There is also a Game Boy Advance version, which costs about 30 dollars, and comes with a cool gift: the free "Chloe Game Boy Advance carry-case."
